Skagen town

Skagen town offer world-class shopping with small unique boutiques whether you are after unique arts and crafts, exclusive fashion or local ingredients. Around town you also find cozy cafees and restaurants.

Grenen

Go to the northern most tip of Denmark, Grenen - where the two oceans meet and stand with one foot in Skagerrak and one foot in Kattegat. This large beach area is constantly moving because of the currents of the two seas. The landscape around it is protected and you can often meet a seal or three laying on the beach just chilling.

The sand covered church

The sand covered church Sct. Laurentii church was functioning as a church over 400 years ago, but drifting sand from Råbjerg Mile started to block the road and get into the church. In 1795 they gave up and closed the church for good. Today you can come inside and walk some steps up to the top.

Råbjerg Mile

Råbjerg Mile is Denmarks biggest migrating sand dune and is also called Denmarks sahara. It is about 1 km long and 1 km wide and consist of 3,5 million m3 sand. It is 40 meters high and you can go for a walk in the area and walk to the top where you get an amazing 36o degree view.

The grey lighthouse

The grey lighthouse house today information about migrating birds and bird interested from the whole world flock to this place. The lighthouse is 46 meter high and there is 210 steps to the top. From there you have a fantastic view over the top of Denmark. It was built in 1858 and was a functioning lighthouse until 2013.

Museum of Skagen

Skagens Museum is an international well-known museum especially for their paintings of all the Skagen-painters, such af Marie and P.S. Krøyer, Anna and Michael Ancher and Holger Drachmann - just to name a few. 

The coastal museum of Skagen

Visit the coastal museum of Skagen and experience the dramactic life it was living in this coastal town within fishing, maritime rescue service and seafaring. It is a combined open air and exhibition museum.
